program description:
The Autism Spectrum Intervention Specialist Certification (ASISC) Program is designed to provide professionals in special education, speech-language pathology, psychology, and other education, health and human services fields who are involved in the education, assessment, and/or treatment of individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families with the skills required to develop effective intervention programs, collaborate effectively on intervention teams, support individuals who are being served within a general education context, and address the needs of families. It provides candidates with an inderdisciplinary curriculum that includes didactic and practicum experience under the direction of recognized scholars in ASD.
Admission/Prerequisite Requirements:
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited university with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- A personal statement delineating goals for participation
- 2 letters of recommendation
